Welcome to an anger guided meditation. I pray you can use this meditation when angry to calm and ease your mind.
Acting out in anger
In our anger, we act out in ways that do not honor God. Learning to control anger and how we express it is hard. But we don’t have to allow anger to control how we act.
Reflection
Letās take a moment to release anger from today. Gently close your eyes. Begin to take a few deep breaths. Allowing each breath you take to begin to ease your mind. Breathe in calmness. Breathe out whatever has caused anger in your heart today. Identify the areas in your body that have become tense. Begin to relax those areas. Slowly open your eyes, bringing your attention back to your environment.
Surrendering anger to God
As we continuously surrender ourselves to God the Holy Spirit will work in our hearts. Giving us the power to let go of angry thoughts and feelings before they cause us to react in negative ways. He will give us peace that surpasses all understanding and wisdom to respond in self-controlled ways that glorify God.
I pray the following scriptures for anger will be helpful.
A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool-tempered person stops them.
Proverbs 15:18
Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city. Proverbs 16:32
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.
Proverbs 15:1
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each otherās faults because of your love.
Ephesians 4:2
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
2 Corinthians 10:5
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
James 1:19-20
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
