How to rest in the busy seasons of life? I pray this guided meditation will help you to become aware of moments, days, and seasons of rest and to embrace them.
Hectic and long days
Your days may be hectic and long. Busyness feels like it has consumed your life. But, in the middle of your overloaded schedule, there are moments, days, and seasons when things quiet down.
This quietness often comes with anxiousness. You think if you rest that you are wasting time or not doing enough. But what if rest is the best thing for you? What you do in the calmness is essential. It can either help you or hinder you.
Reflection
Take this time to slow down. Practice this meditation with no goals in mind. At this moment, release the desire to achieve something. Invite yourself to a state of rest. It is safe to let go. Allow yourself to be completely present, tuning into your senses. How are you feeling? What is coming to your mind at this moment? Take hold of any negative thoughts. Release them. Embrace any positive thoughts. Let them fill your heart with peace.
Stillness is an opportunity
It is easy to get distracted. Stillness is an opportunity to pray, reflect, and refocus. Commit to taking time to slow down and embracing times of rest. As this practice ends, ponder ways you can incorporate rest into your daily routine. How would that look for you?
