Welcome to a guided meditation for dealing with negative thoughts.
Meditation
Before we begin the meditation, please take a few moments to settle into a comfortable position.
Begin to clear your mind.
Bring your attention to the breath.
Take a few deep breaths in through the nose.
And breathe out slowly through the mouth, releasing any stress from the day.
Return to your natural breathing pattern.
We all deal with negative thoughts
We all deal with negative thoughts. They enter our minds causing us many anxieties. Sometimes we can ignore them other times, they linger. The longer we let these thoughts hang around in our minds, the more they change us. They enter our hearts and begin to shape how we view God, ourselves, others, and the world around us. We can destroy damaging thoughts with God’s help.
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
2 Corinthians 10:5
Reflection
Take a moment to take hold of any negative thoughts that may be lounging around in your mind today.

Release them to Jesus.
As I read the following scriptures, I pray you will feel the comfort and peace of God.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13
Prayer for negative thoughts
Let’s pray together when you are ready.
God, thank you for today. I pray that you will help us to ignore negative thoughts that come up daily and give us the power to replace them with your Truth. Thank you for your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, amen.
